Multidisciplinary Team and Specialist Provision

our services

Sprucewood has a residential staff team registered with the Northern Ireland Social Care Council (NISCC) and trained specifically in attachment, the impact of trauma and child development. The team is supported by senior social workers, a psychologist, art psychotherapist, play therapist, and occupational therapist who provide training, consultation, individual intervention strategies and case supervision as appropriate.

Access to a nurse and dietician is also provided for consultation and advice. Each child’s individual education plan is supported by a professionally qualified teacher who provides access to the national curriculum through creative, responsive and trauma informed teaching strategies. Sprucewood is also a registered ASDAN (a charitable organization and awarding body) center, providing access to alternative education and engagement in the learning process through creative and meaningful projects specifically chosen by the child.  Consultation with external specialists is also arranged as required.
